About
Daniel Harms
Born in Hamburg on October 7, 1980, Daniel Harms is a Berlin-based artist known for his powerful large-scale, concept-driven paintings.
Drawing inspiration from his personal experiences, his work explores themes of alienation, identity, and human connection. Through deliberate exaggeration and distortion, Harms amplifies reality, creating emotionally charged images that linger between the familiar and the uncanny.
His distinctive visual language is marked by vibrant colors, bold lines, and abstracted forms. The figures inhabiting his paintings appear suspended in timeless, often surreal spaces, challenging conventional narratives and inviting open interpretation.
Harms' large-scale oil paintings are held in numerous prestigious private and corporate collections, including those of Keanu Reeves, Korn, Grammy Award winners, the Joop Family, the Otto Family, politicians, Pfizer, ARGO Entertainment, Daniel Parker, Johann König, David Bassange, Kym Wagner, Kreator, as well as the Dr. Nicolaus Lingens Collection and the Dr. Erk Wiemers Collection, among many others.
He has exhibited extensively in galleries, museums, and international art fairs across the globe, including exhibitions in the USA, Italy, Turkey, Germany, and beyond. His work has been shown alongside artists such as Gerhard Richter, Georg Baselitz, Markus Lüpertz, A.R. Penck, Jonathan Meese, and H.R. Giger.
Beyond his painting practice, Harms has collaborated with brands like SHURE and supported charitable organizations such as TelefonSeelsorge Deutschland. His artistic practice also extends into photography, music, and film/video. Daniel Harms lives and works in Berlin.
